Copenhagen wasn't actually on my itinerary - I was just flying there in order to hop across the bridge to Sweden..... but the sun was shining when I arrived and the weather looks rather grim for the rest of the week, so, I left my luggage in 'left luggage' and ventured into the capital of Denmark.
The Copenhagen metro (2 lines) is to my opinion a mimalist's delight and I love the way that at each stop the train comes to a stop, thinks for 5 seconds and then the doors open ... I am not missing the hustle and bustle of Paris.
What struck me in Copenhagen was the fact that there were mothers with prams and babies and people in wheelchairs ... not so strange you may say, but compared to Paris it's a different world where parents and the disabled are not second class citizens!
Also the numbers of bikes was astounding ... with the canals and bikes, I guess I could have been in Amsterdam ... but no, Hans Christian Andersson and the Little Mermaid reminded me I was in Copenhagen!
I hope you like this shot of the place where I had lunch. I have also converted to black and white but in the end the colour won by just a little bit....
